FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
VAMPIRES FIGHT BACK ZOMBIES TO SECURE THEIR LAST BLOOD ON FREE COMIC BOOK DAY
Blatant Comics launches new bi-monthly horror series LAST BLOOD with free first issue on May 5th
Cresbard, SD (January 26, 2007) - Numerous comic books have explored the difficulties of living in a world overrun by zombies, but the new bi-monthly comic book series LAST BLOOD from Blatant Comics answers an intriguing new question: how do vampires deal with a zombie outbreak? Readers can sample that answer at no cost when the free first issue of LAST BLOOD arrives in comic book stores everywhere on Free Comic Book Day, May 5th.
The action of LAST BLOOD takes place one month after the zombie outbreak spread worldwide, at a school building in a tiny midwestern town where the surviving humans have holed up. Their town's remoteness has kept them relatively safe from the living dead invasion until one fateful day when a horde of zombies arrive, and another kind of undead creature shows up behind them.
"It's a simple story," says LAST BLOOD writer and co-creator Bobby Crosby. "After zombies take over the Earth, vampires must protect the last surviving humans so they can live off their blood." Simple as that may be, Crosby promises many twists and turns, including a brand new origin for zombies.
Blatant Comics, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this summer, is best known for edgy parody comics like DEAD SONJA: SHE-ZOMBIE WITH A SWORD, SLOTH PARK, and XXXENA: WARRIOR PORNSTAR. LAST BLOOD is the first of many non-parody comics Blatant has planned for 2007 as it expands into new genres like horror and action.
LAST BLOOD #1 (Diamond Order Code: FEB070026) is a 32-page B&W comic book by Bobby Crosby and Owen Gieni in comic book stores on May 5th. Blatant's next parody comic THE OFFICE OF HEROES #1 by Mike Leffel, in stores right before Free Comic Book Day on May 2nd, will feature a special preview of July's LAST BLOOD #2.
